Will my dog actually use it?
Many dogs are unsure of a ramp at first. Start with it flat on the lawn, add height a little at a time, and reward every step. That's the 7-day Walk-Up Plan that comes with it. Is it too steep for my vehicle?

Is the surface slippery?
The top is a textured, loofah-style carpet. Like any carpet, it grips less when wet or matted with hair. Keep it dry, brush it out, and set the foot on grass, gravel or a mat, not smooth wet concrete. The traction tips sheet in your Walk-Up Kit covers the rest.

It's made for the rear: an SUV cargo floor or a truck tailgate. For a side door, measure the opening (the ramp is 19.3 in wide) and make sure the top has a flat edge to rest on.
